purple rain...

Sometimes i think of things in the form of images or colours...when i think of November, i think of the colour purple...november is purple...

In Israel, the rain usually begins in november...so when i started thinking about how i would design the month of november for Marianne's calendar swap...i kept coming up with purple rain.


Now youre probably thinking about Prince's song from the 80's...but when i looked it up, the connotations werent so good ;)...or maybe you are thinking about the book by Alice Walker..

...in the end i just went with my intuition and produced this set of collages...

I like how some of them came out looking like winter jumpers in their texture!

    you amaze me. these are so wonderful. my calendar page looks rather elementary...but remember, i spent 11 years working with preschoolers. i think some of it rubbed off. um, can i come over for some art lessons?! :) xoxo shari

    another beautiful calendar page! i just love your style. but i have to admit, when i read the title of your post the first thing that popped into my head was the prince song. but i love prince so it made me happy. :)

    I love them (my favs are top row purple one and the one left of that). How wonderful that you see November as purple- that's my bday and my fav colour!

    dear julie...wow!! such gorgeousness!! prince came into my head too on reading your title + i fear i may be singing the song over + over in my head for ages now :) he is great though! these calendar pages are so wonderful...i love them. so very textural. x
