This weekend i took some time out from 2 commissions to do some drawing...a love these simple pleasures...
Yesterday i stained different types of paper with tea... i really do enjoy this sepia look which gives the paper some depth.
I LOVE Marthas clothes - they all have this simple beauty...the colours and forms are so, so wonderful. A while ago, i saw this girls dress and thought about drawing it... this afternoon was so relaxing and i found some time to sit and draw...

The drawing isnt so great but i would love to try some more of her clothes...

and now im off to learn about david attenboroughs 'silk spinners' in 'life in the undergrowth'...

hi julie! it's good to be back seeing your lovely drawings (i just stopped by 2views too...that blossom WOW!!!) clothes are such a great subject...i can see why you you were inspired. the stained paper adds that something extra as a base to work on. so glad that you paused for some spontaneous drawing...sometimes thats when we can produce our best stuff i think : )
