Negative spaces.....love the punched holes, he he he.
The final episode of Planet Earth was shown last night. About the ocean........Extraordinary. Lots of inspiration.
Did you see the timelapse footage of the fungi emerging out of the ground and unfurling a white gossamer like net under the cap?

Love the positive/negative dots, they're adorable. Great sketches (I love finding out more about plants and nature through your blog). BBC do great nature programmes-Planet Earth and Blue Planet are my favourites.

    Hi there Julie,
Hearing you mention positive and negative space reminds me of something I often write (when teaching oil painting via correspondence to students). I seem to always end up writing a paragraph on the value of negative space and how it can inform the positive.
Thanks, as always, for the look into your journal.
    happy drawing, g xo

the private life of plants sounds so intriguing. and yes, yes! to thinking on positive and negative space... that has been in my mind so much lately too with my jewelry course, and the use of these spaces in this material.
