Rami and I have been joking recently at how we should be hired as "breakfast reviewers' of the area!! When we lived in Tel Aviv, it was our special thing every friday morning to try out a new place for breakfast...and since we have lived in this area we have moved from one coffee shop to another trying out the different places.

They are not the standard of Tel Aviv, it happens on free mornings - not necessarily on fridays and we now have at least of the girls in tow - making it a completely diffferent experience!

Without realising it, we found ourselves comparing the different breakfasts we met...not just the food but we had a list of important points... atmosphere, quality of the food, freshness, uniqueness, quality of the coffee (Rami's big point!!) service, and prices and we were pretty disappointed......and then we found this place - 5 minutes drive from our apartment, a rural setting with greenhouse skeletons and lemons, passion fruit and olives growing on the trees outside...

Ok, so its not TA...you cant people watch here and enjoy the different colours of the city but the food is wonderful, the quality is really good, it has a lovely country atmosphere and the coffee is up to standard (apparently)!!

So it seems, this is now our regular haunt for free mornings... wish you could join us :)

(Sorry about the poor photos..i was going to scrap them but they actually capture the place perfectly.)

The idea of free mornings and exploring the different places to have breakfast is great.
That red floor is beautiful and I like the tiny olives (haven't they been picked up this year? In here we already have new olive oil) as little black dots decorating the fine branches.
I wish I had been able to have breakfast with you in that sunny spot.

Oh Julie, when you first shared of your breakfast outings I already knew you had something special and wonderful, please let me join you!

How lovely everything looks and, I do believe that having a good breakfast really gets you ready for the day ahead. Love that there are lemons, passion fruit and olives growing on the trees outside (did I mention I have an olive addiction?) Sunshine, how lovely to see these pictures during the cold winter days.

i wish we lived closer and could meet for breakfast! i could see us sitting for hours, sipping on our coffee and planning out projects...jordan and i also love going out for breakfast and discovering new places to spend our mornings. one thing we miss here is good coffee shops. there are some good places to eat breakfast but not comfy coffeeshops with big old couches like we had in brooklyn. it's one ofmy requirements for wherever we live when we go back to the states...walking distance from a place with good breakfast and coffee.

the photos are so evocative... your story makes me miss my old breakfast place, a short walk from my house where i knew all the waitresses and the omelettes and coffee were so nice. i am still trying to find my breakfast/ brunch place here... when you find a special one it is such a good feeling! a slow breakfast is the essence of sunday for me... sunshine & relaxation.
