Instead of trying frantically to create some new crafts in the last few days, I spent my 'free' time sketching.
I know theyre not much but...its something I havent done for ages and I really enjoy the freehand flow of the pencil or pen. I like not worrying that it has to be perfect (a major problem of mine!)
I used different mediums, enjoying each one for its different qualities. I wanted to draw some flowers or plants, but if you could see the state of our balcony right now you'd understand why I turned to apples and onions!!! The apples were great fun - focusing on the core. And after finishing them, they reminded me of this
Australian artist.

And the onion...I love the colours you find in onions.

    Hi Julie
LOVE the colour you have used in the top of the apple. It's so apple-ish. I have just received a copy of a book called "The Apple Tree" for Beth and I love it just for the Apple drawings. Must take some photos and show you.

    Hi Julie,

Thanks for commenting on my weblog, I'm so glad you found me because now I can enjoy your work also.

I have been looking at your flickr accound as well and I so love all the thing you make and the colors you use. It's absolutely wonderful and you can be sure I will be back on a regular basis to see more! I really love the little boat in your banner it's so lovely.

These sketches are amazing really. I'm following an homecourse illustrating but due to all the computerdesignwork I am way behind sending in my stuff. Anyway seeing things like your art makes me want to get away from the computer more and start painting and drawing more, so thanks for that
