The words are embroidered into the wood

The bird is made of paper

A piece I started a while back and as usual, never got round to finishing it. I enjoyed making it - it wasnt really planned - it just came together as I went along! I want to put an old long key in the compartment at the bottam but Ive only got short fat ones!!

That is so cool. I love it how it's got compartments for stuff in. Especially the russian doll as I collect those.

The wood is balsa wood - very light. I used a drawing pin and pushed it through the wood to make the holes in the right places and then sewed through them. I love the idea of embroidered wood and want to take the idea further with something more detailed.
