Some more inspiration in the lead up to colour week... here is Shellys first self portrait...just amazing...the shapes in the sky is actually rain in different forms - hearts included...beautiful!!... there are 2 grey clouds which were a sign of this rain...the flower shapes on the hands and feet are bracelets and the pink shapes in the grass are "fat caterpillars"!

I love how the sun and sky are not typically yellow and blue - i always encourage Shelly to draw whatever she feels...no rules!!

She SO creative! She'll have her own ETSY shop by next year :0)

Happy blogiversary, wish I'd been aware of you sooner but even this last month or so has been great, and I've skimmed through teh archives whenever I have a free moment and thoroughly enjoyed it (more looking than reading, never enough time for all the reading).

I'll most definitely participate in your colour week. Only 1 problem, restricting myself to one pic, I can never chose and always go with 2 or three, hee hee.

Daphne (puppychick.com) has offered to scan some of my old photo's so I may be able to show more of my pod work soon. I now think of you as my creative pod twin.

SO exciting to see how much colour and flowering there is around you. Finally we are catching up with spring here, little bits of blossom appearing etc. Oh, and I loved the look of your picnic/fire day in the woods. Can I come next time?! If only. x

Happy joyful Spring picture, so great to see that she is already practising self-portraits. You are the best art-teacher / mum for inspiration.

that is the best encouragement....not hinting at what they should or shouldn't paint/draw. Let their imaginations run wild. Wonderfully executed work Shelly with the most amazing marks and colours.
