I found this picture yesterday - its from my uni days on site for one of the projects... i cant remember where it is or what happened with the project but what a wonderful site..i love ruins, ruined castles - i think its the decay, the history, the mystery - they are like sets in a theatre...i found many ruins on a trip to Ireland years ago (not sure where the pics are) -Here is an amazing link to a set of photos of a beautiful ruined building - once a public bathhouse and then a ballroom which eventually burnt down: burnt sofiensaal-sofiensäle

Today we took a trip to Jaffa with some friends..we started out at this amazing artists house which is full of his mosaic pieces...i didnt feel comfortable taking photos of his work but this was one of the hall floors in the apartment building where he lives... i love the old tiles that were once used...
then we went on to a place where they make really good humous...
And then the best part... we came across this little garden...
and inside was this amazing tree!!!!!!!!...
look at those roots...they grow into the ground from the air!!!
definitely highlight of the day!!!!!!
will have to create some art inspired by this tree...hope everyones having a great weekend...
Yesterday we took a day trip to the dead sea - translated from Yam Hamelach ( sea of salt). Its an amazing place that ive visited many times... its like being in another world. Being the lowest point on earth where the water is literally full of salt...it is so silent and calm..with the rugged mountains on one side and a hazy view of Jordan across the water on the other... its quite hard to describe the feeling there...so here are some pics...
I was talking to a friend about tea this morning - how to make the best cuppa!! It made me think of my parents neighbour who made the best cup of tea. And then I remembered I had a photo of her that I had taken while at university - i think you can tell so much about her from this picture...
I have mentioned before about my love for photography and while at university I also developed my own photos. Many happy days were spent in the darkroom (escaping lectures!) with my very good friend S with Jazz fm playing in the background...

Many happy days were spent in the darkroom (escaping lectures!) with my very good friend S with Jazz fm playing in the background...Here are a couple of favourites - Canary Wharf while it was still being built and some beautiful buildings in Bath - both very British!
I have to find some time to return to photography...
If I had a lot of money and I could choose where I wanted to live, I would choose Neve Tzedek - a little gem of an area between Tel-Aviv and Jaffa and by the beach. It has old, crumbling buildings and its full of artists!! There is a theatre and a wonderful Italian restaurant, several galleries and the narrow streets are just full of colour and texture!! The doors and windows are particularly wonderful. Today we walked round and soaked in the atmosphere!! 
Ive just been going through some of my files and found some old photos. When I was still single, I used to love photography. I had an old Pentax and when I lived in Tel-Aviv (great city!) I would walk around on Saturdays (Israels Sunday) and take lots of photos.
Since the kids have come along, theres no time for 'real' photography its a quick snap with the digital - not at all the same!! I miss it!
